Wood Sills vs. Aluminum Sills

As the time goes by, we are more pleased with things that are more practical and easy. As well as in building a house, something that is more easily applied will tend to be chosen by the consumers. A long time ago we know only the sills made of basic materials; wood. Today, as the era is developed, the period of wood sills replaced by the aluminum sills.
A basic material of wood, which becomes increasingly rare and increasingly expensive, becomes a current trend of consumers in choosing aluminum as an alternative. Seeing from the price side, aluminum is also cheaper than wood. Besides, we do not need special treatment for such sills. Aluminum is more resistant to the weather and of course resistant to termite problems.
For the wood it self is already difficult to find wood with a good quality. The basic price is not including the process and finishing. If it is compared with aluminum, of course, aluminum price is far less than wood.
But everything in this world must have the negative sides. For wood sills, as we all may know, it very vulnerable to the weather change. Low quality wood can shrink or expand easily when the weather is changing. If there is shrinkage in one of the corner of the wood for example in a window sill or in a door sill, it will result in the difficulty for us to open the door or the window.
